The Inception Program of “Playing for Peace” under the FIFA Foundation Community Program was officially launched today in Dhaka, Bangladesh, with the participation of Jibondhara Foundation and its development partners. The program aims to use football as a tool for peacebuilding, youth empowerment, and social inclusion, particularly targeting children from underserved communities. Through this initiative, Jibondhara Foundation seeks to promote teamwork, discipline, and positive engagement among young participants while also encouraging gender equality and the inclusion of children with disabilities in sports activities.
During the inception session, stakeholders including community representatives, educators, coaches, and program officials discussed the overall implementation strategy and long-term vision of the project. The program will run for two years and will include regular football training sessions, school-based activities, community tournaments, and life skills development workshops. The initiative is expected to engage more than 1,000 children, helping them build confidence, leadership skills, and healthy lifestyles.
The speakers highlighted that “Playing for Peace” is not only a sports program but also a social development initiative that aims to strengthen community harmony and reduce youth vulnerability through structured engagement. Jibondhara Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to fostering inclusive opportunities for young people and using sports as a bridge for peace and development across communities in Bangladesh.
